Tessa Thompson

Tessa Lynn Thompson, an artist and performer of Los Angeles was born in 1983. She is a daughter of Marc Anthony Thompson (a singer/songwriter) and the granddaughter Bobby Ramos, an actor/musician. She was born in Los Angeles and raised there before relocating to Brooklyn. Her mother has Mexican as well as British Isles heritage, while her father is Afro-Panamanian. Thompson was involved in several productions while in Santa Monica High School. After graduating, she attended college in Santa Monica College, where she earned a certificate in the field of cultural anthropology. In the role of Juliet, she portrayed William Shakespeare's play "Romeo as well as Juliet" at the Pasadena California production at the Boston Court Theatre.
